I love photography that's simple therefore, I am drawn to only using one light. This weekend I took a couple friends a blue light gel and my Nikon SB700 speedlight on a photographic adventure. The results were more than expected with an added punch to my urban photographs.

Warmth
I bring you a new abstract for the new year! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to devote time to my fine art. Sometimes breaks are good for an artist! Most of the time breaks offer new insight into my process giving me a chance to evolve my technique.
With some extemely frigid below zero temps in my neck of the woods, I was inspired to create something with warm and cool colors. Vivid colors are always part of my abstracts, but it’s fun to offer up some rich color paletes with some darker undertones.

Had a great time alone in nature yesterday evening. I love heading out to take photos a couple hours before sunset because you get such a variety of light conditions in a short amount of time.
Fall is a wonderful time to explore the great outdoors. It’s not too hot and not too cold and colors are abundant.
Water photography tips:
• Slower shutter speeds create the soft cottony flow of the water while faster shutter speeds make the water sharper. Play around with these settings because you can get very different effects with slight changes in shutter speeds.
